Doja Taxidis
CEO – Fantasy Fanatic
As an avid organiser, creative thinker and community enthusiast, Doja has spent years bringing people together through events and meetups. Her love of connection, and the frustration of never quite finding the right venue, sparked the idea for GatherWhere.
With a background in events, IT and people-first projects, she blends thoughtful organisation with a deep understanding of what makes gatherings meaningful. Doja believes that spaces shape experiences, and that everyone should have access to welcoming, affordable places to meet, learn, share and grow.
GatherWhere is her way of helping communities thrive – one gathering at a time.
It all started with an idea...
GatherWhere was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to make it easier for organisers to find the right venue for the type of event they’re planning.
Smaller gatherings, like book clubs, workshops, or support groups, often struggle to find affordable, consistent venues. Doja, saw this first-hand while running the Reading Sci-Fi and Fantasy Fanatics meetup group, where she hosted a variety of different events and faced the same challenge again and again.
We believe great events don’t need grand halls, they just need the right space. GatherWhere connects organisers with often-overlooked venues like cafés, restaurants, studios, co-working corners, and other hidden gems perfect for smaller groups.
No need to break the bank
What sets GatherWhere apart is our focus on affordability and accessibility. We understand that many organisers are working with limited budgets or no budget at all, particularly for events that are recurring and free to attend.
That’s why we prioritise venues that are free or low-cost to reserve, ensuring that event planners can find the right space without breaking the bank.
The future of GatherWhere
Looking ahead, we’re excited about where GatherWhere is headed. Starting in Reading is just the beginning.
Our vision is for GatherWhere to become a global platform that empowers organisers everywhere, helping them foster genuine relationships through small, memorable gatherings.
At the end of the day, GatherWhere is about more than just finding venues, it’s about making it easier for people to share, learn, and celebrate together.
We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built so far, and we can’t wait to see how it continues to grow.
Thank you for being on this journey with us.
